Back a work

I'm sitting here watching and reading the live coverage of IMAZ. Great race going on out there ... I can't believe Keiren Doe is able to hold on to third place having taken off his shoes after 8 miles on the run because of plantar fasciitis pain. Jordan Rapp is leading (link on my blog list). I wish I was out there racing!!

Speaking of being out there ... my coach is out in Tempe supporting some fellow athletes and watching the race but made sure I received my plan for next week last night. Today completes my first week of training under a coach and I have to say that I'm really impressed and look forward to what we will accomplish together. Last week was about 10 hours of training which is my normal workload, but the workouts had much more specificity than I ever forced upon myself. The volume is only going to climb from here. The plan is to race the B2B ironman again in 2009 and then get me to Kona in 2010. The first step in making this happen is to get over this ITBS and get my body ready to take on the workload headed my way. That's the main focus right now.

So ... off season is over, it's back to work for me.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

I liked that about my coach as well. When training, it was NEVER a dull moment :-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

So, offseason is an offweek? Hmmm...

Stay healthy, cause you are going to kill it next year! Oh, and you are going to the Open class, right?

Hey Nick, it's Paul Kindzia from over at A Ticket To Kona blog.

I was wondering what you thought of the Beach 2 Battleship event; organization, hoopla, logistics, excitement?

With M-dot races so hard to get into I think athletes need another alternative and this looks like a good one. Although I did question putting an Ironman race in North Carolina on in November. Sometimes the weather could truly be winter-like and it looks like it was cold in the morning. I think it could have been worse.

Shoot me an email over at paul@atickettokona.com if you get a chance.

Good job on the sub 11! Very impressive.
